Japanese Ginger Pork Bowl (Shogayaki)

1. Sear pork

Heat oil in a skillet. Add pork slices and cook 2–3 minutes until lightly browned.

2. Add ginger

Stir in grated ginger and cook for 30 seconds.

3. Add sauce

Add soy sauce and sugar.

Stir and cook until pork is glossy and caramelized (2–3 minutes).

4. Serve

Serve over rice or on a bed of cabbage.

Notes / Tips

True Japanese pairing: miso soup & pickled veggies

Add sesame seeds or green onions

Swap protein: chicken, tofu, ground pork

Add veggies: onions, mushrooms, spinach
